Hotels in Mexico
Rooftop hotels in Mexico, on this site, cover two very different cities: Mexico City, high on its plateau, and Veracruz, the old port on the Gulf coast. One gives a skyline of domes and towers, the other sea air and harbour views.
In Mexico City, rooftop bars around the Centro Histórico look over the Zócalo, the Metropolitan Cathedral and the Torre Latinoamericana, while terraces along Paseo de la Reforma face the glass towers and the Angel of Independence. At about 2,240 metres the evenings cool quickly, and the dry season from November to April gives the clearest views, sometimes as far as the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl. From June to September, afternoon showers are common. Veracruz trades height for the sea: rooftop pools and jacuzzis look across red-tile roofs to the harbour, the Malecón and the San Juan de Ulúa fortress. Pick the capital for the city at night, Veracruz for a slow evening by the water.
