Hotels in India
Rooftop hotels in India cover eight very different skylines on this site, from the Arabian Sea to the Ganges. Mumbai's terraces look over Marine Drive and the sea, Chennai's catch the breeze off the Bay of Bengal, and Hyderabad's face Hussain Sagar lake and the towers of HITEC City. Bengaluru, at around 900 metres, has the mildest evenings and a strong rooftop bar culture, while Pune trades coastal humidity for cooler Deccan nights over Koregaon Park.
In Gujarat, Ahmedabad's roofs watch the Sabarmati riverfront and the old city, and Surat's overlook the Tapi; alcohol is restricted in the state, so terraces there lean toward dining. Prayagraj is the outlier, a low pilgrimage city looking toward the Sangam. For most cities the best rooftop months run from November to February; the monsoon, roughly June to September, closes many open-air terraces, especially in Mumbai.
