Hotels in Brazil
Rooftop hotels in Brazil split into two very different views, and the site covers both: São Paulo's endless concrete skyline and Rio de Janeiro's granite peaks dropping into the Atlantic. In São Paulo, terraces look across the towers of Avenida Paulista, the green block of Ibirapuera Park and the low streets of Jardins, and the rooftop scene is about the city lighting up after dark, with pools, lounges and late bars to match.
Rio, including the wider Greater Rio area, trades skyline for landscape. From rooftops in Copacabana, Ipanema or the centre, the eye goes to Sugarloaf Mountain, the Christ the Redeemer statue on Corcovado and the long curve of the beaches. Pick São Paulo for nightlife and a big-city panorama, Rio for sea views and sunset over the Dois Irmãos hills. Both cities are warm enough for terraces all year; summer from December to March brings heavy afternoon showers, while the drier winter months give clearer evenings.
